EMB supports community project
As part of its commitment to local communities, EMB has
added its support to the 'Lincolnshire Businesses For
Breakfast' Project run by Business in the Community
(BiTC).
The Lincolnshire Businesses For Breakfast charity, launched
in partnership with BiTC was able to begin rolling out
the project to schools with the support
and donations from Lincoln's businesses. The aim is
to develop primary school breakfast clubs across the
city.
Response to date has been extremely positive with a high
number of schools wanting to get involved. Some of the
schools already have clubs and are keen to access BiTC support
quickly. Others have been given the confidence to go about
setting up clubs, knowing that the funds were available.
BiTC today announced that six schools are already accessing
the free food, with another six due to do so in the next couple of
weeks. There are another eight primary schools in the
city that may require support, and five of these are being
supported to set up clubs. BiTC hopes to be supporting them
with free food by the autumn.
A spokesperson from BiTC said, "I'd like to take this
opportunity to thank EMB Ltd and local businesses for
their support for this project.
Every penny donated is being spent on food for Lincoln
children. We will be monitoring attendance, along with other
positive behavioural benefits within the schools.
Each supporting business is matched with one of the schools
in the scheme - EMB is teamed with Bracebridge Infant & Nursery
School - so that they can be kept up to date with
progress.
Danielle Gillett, EMB Director of Corporate Services said,
"These breakfast clubs can provide a good start to the day for
children. Building relationships between businesses and
schools can also prove beneficial to students and businesses alike
and we are pleased to be able to support the scheme."
